Prickly Pear Holistic Veterinary Care specializes in acupuncture, herbal medicine, chiropractic therapy, and Reiki for all animals including dogs, cats, horses, goats, pigs, and exotic species. Since we are a mobile practice, we have the advantage of treating your animals in their home environment and we save you the stress and hassle of having to haul your pets to the clinic.
Dr. Lauren Genow will perform a compassionate and thorough examination and provide a treatment plan that supports your goals for your pet's well-being.
Please note: We are a specialty practice and do not do clinical labwork (bloodwork, x-rays, etc.) or carry vaccines.

Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine
Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine are the best known modalities in Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine (TCVM). Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine are safe and effective when administered by a trained practitioner and can be used in conjunction with other Western medical treatments. Acupuncture can be performed on almost all species and most animals enjoy acupuncture--many even fall asleep during their treatment!
Answers to Frequently Asked Questions can be found on our Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine page.
Chiropractic Services for Animals
Animal Chiropractic Therapy aims to restore function and mobility to the vertebrae of the spine and limbs and is an effective therapy to help maintain your animal's health. If the movement of the spine and joints becomes dysfunctional, nervous system signaling to muscles, tissues, organs and immune system function are all negatively impacted. Over time, these problems can reduce overall well-being and quality of life.
Stiffness, pain, muscle spasms, sensitivity to touch, digestive problems, lameness, weakness, gait abnormalities, and reduced athletic performance can all be symptoms of spinal or biomechanical hypomobility. Healthy, properly aligned joints support improved movement, agility, healing, and balanced neurological signaling.
